Privacy Policy
1. Summary
Taskstick is local-first. Your tasks and notes are stored on your device by default, and every local feature works without an account. We only receive data when you create an account and turn on cloud sync or AI features. We do not sell data, show ads, or track you across apps and websites.
2. Data we collect
- Account — email address. Signing in uses an email verification code. We store your email address to identify your account and authenticate you. It is linked to your identity and used only for app functionality (sign-in, account security, essential service emails).
- Synced content — tasks and notes. When you enable cloud sync, your tasks and notes are uploaded to our servers so they can reach your other devices. This content is linked to your account and used only to provide sync.
- AI features (optional). If you use AI organizing, the text you submit is sent to our server to generate drafts and is processed only to respond to your request. AI is off by default and can stay off entirely.
Everything else stays on your device: local databases, calendars and reminders you link (read locally with your permission), notification settings, and preferences.
3. What we never do
- We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
- We do not use your data for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
- We do not embed advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking SDKs in the app.
4. Storage and security
Synced data is stored on servers operated for us in mainland China (Alibaba Cloud) and transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access is restricted to the operations of the service. We retain your data while your account is active.
5. Your controls
- Stay local: use Taskstick without an account; nothing leaves your device.
- Turn off sync or AI at any time in Settings.
- Delete your account: contact us and we will delete your account and synced server data.
6. Children
Taskstick is not directed at children under 14, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
7. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and the effective date above. Material changes will be highlighted in the app or on this site.
